Cecil Harripersaud

Cecil Harripersaud, age 80, of Mableton, Georgia, formerly of New York, passed away on June 14, 2012 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Georgia.

Mr. Harripersaud was born to Ramkhelawan and Ramdai on August 22, 1931 in West Coast Demerara, Guyana. He worked as a security guard for Lansdell Protective Agency for many years before retiring.

A beloved member of Calvary Presbyterian Church on Windy Hill Road in Marietta, Georgia, Mr. Harripersaud was a God fearing man who loved the Lord. He would have his devotional at least three times per day and shared his knowledge by counseling others in need. Mr. Harripersaud was an avid gardener and an exemplary individual whose behavior was nothing less than commendable.

Mr. Harripersaud was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was married to his wife, Mintha Matbar Harripersaud for 59 years and had seven children: Amelia, Beatrice, Monica, Jean, Maylene, Solomon, and Paul. The couple were later blessed with nine grandchildren: Mark, Marcie, Merlianne, Stephen, Vanessa, David, Stephanie, Nicholas, and Isabelle. He was a wonderful family-oriented man that everyone loved to be around.

Cecil Harripersaud is preceded in death by his father, Ramkhelawan; mother, Ramdai; sister, Mona; and brother, Amos. He is survived by his wife, Mintha Matbar Harripersaud; daughters, Amelia and her husband Raymond Dundee of Hollis, New York, Beatrice and her husband Jerald Barran of Queens, New York, Monica and her husband Satesh Parsan of Queens, New York, Jean Harripersaud of Bronx, New York, and Maylene and her husband Basil Dundee of Mableton, Georgia; sons, Solomon Harripersaud and his wife Vena of Mableton, Georgia and Paul Harripersaud and his wife Shelly of Mableton, Georgia; sisters, Rosa, Millicent, Juliet, and Sarooj; and grandchildren, Mark, marcie, Merlianne, Stephen, Vanessa, David, Stephanie, Nicholas, and Isabelle.

The family of Cecil Harripersaud will receive friends 6:00pm-8:00pm Friday, June 15, 2012 at White Columns Funeral Chapel in Mableton, Georgia with a funeral service held in the visitation area at 7:00pm with Reverend Pete Paulsen officiating. Leo F. Kearns Funeral Home in New York will handle future services with an interment following at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kew Gardens, New York.
